Two videos just brought to my attention this week: the first, a 1996 meditation on harsh conditioning and bullying in Japanese schools, and the second, a video compiled by John Mayer on a recent trip to Japan. Both are somewhat superficial in their simplicity, but together they do a better job of explaining how I often feel about Japan than my words ever could.

Battered and blissful
The 2009 touch rugby tournament is in the books, and this year's Su-touch-i squad finished with a 2-4-2 record and a great effort all around. In sum - two days of play that left me scraped, sore, and very very happy.
